Starting Off The 2017 Farmer's Market Season

This won't be a long post because I have a ton of things to get done still, but today I attended Bemidji's Natural Choice Farmer's Market for the first time this season. It was a daunting task, I must tell you. Gusting winds were relentless, and despite having weights attached, most of the vendor's tents were picked up and blown around at one point (yes, there was a flurry of activity and many vendors--myself included--anchored themselves to some point of their tent to keep them in their designated areas).

Not long afterwards, many were taken down and put away while the vendors continued to sell directly in the sun. I persevered and kept my tent up, but not without the aid of additional weights (thanks Duane and Laura), and wedging my chair into one of the weights to utilize my body weight. I was also unable to display my business banner because it served as a kite...could be fun in a different setting, but not there!

Over all, it was a good day for selling. Customers were not overly abundant because of so many other activities happening in town, but I had some great exchanges with the ones that did stop by. Several people complimented me on the layout of my set up and the look of my body treats. While I take pride in producing quality products and knowing the benefits of my ingredients, I love when customers stop by just to admire and smell my creations. Of course, I want them to buy as well, but it does a heart good to see people get excited about the designs and creativity as well.
